Chaunsa mangoes — also spelled Chausa — are the mango most people mean when they talk about Pakistani fruit. They come from the Multan belt and surrounding orchards of Punjab, ripen gold, and eat like a dessert that grew on a tree. If you are ordering one variety for the United States, start here.
Supreme Mangoes packs Chaunsa in 2kg boxes for households and distributors. See this season’s pack sizes on the Chaunsa product page, or browse the full shop.
What Chaunsa tastes like
Ripe Chaunsa is fibreless, juicy, and aromatic before you even cut it. The flesh is tender rather than firm, the sweetness is high, and there is a lingering perfume that Ataulfo and Tommy Atkins never quite reach. A good Chaunsa should drip. If it eats dry or stringy, it was picked wrong or stored wrong — not “how Chaunsa is.”
Skin turns golden-yellow at peak. A little blush or speckling is normal. Hard green fruit is not ready; blackened, weeping fruit has gone past. Our ripening guide covers the counter method we recommend in North American kitchens.
When is Chaunsa season?
In Pakistan, Chaunsa is a mid-to-late harvest. For the USA shipments, plan on June through mid-August, with the best eating in the heart of that window. It follows Sindhri and overlaps Anwar Ratol. That is why Chaunsa is the variety that sells out: everyone has been waiting, and the trees do not wait for late purchase orders.
The broader calendar is in our Pakistani mango season guide.
Chaunsa vs other Pakistani mangoes
Sindhri is earlier, larger, and a little more “honey and sunshine.” Anwar Ratol is smaller and more concentrated — a connoisseur’s mango. Chaunsa sits in the middle of the calendar and at the top of most family preference lists. If you are splitting a first order, many customers do a bundle of Sindhri to open the season and Chaunsa for the main table. The full comparison is here: Chaunsa vs Sindhri vs Anwar Ratol.
How we pack Chaunsa for the USA
Each box is 2kg gross, typically 5–7 fruits depending on calibre. Boxes ship in bundles of four, with a minimum order of 8 boxes. That is the unit that protects fruit in the air freight and trucking legs between Pakistani groves and the United States.
Consumers order from the shop. Grocers, restaurants, and community distributors should use the wholesale form so we can hold Chaunsa allocation — late-season volume is the first thing to disappear.
Buying Chaunsa in the USA
We fulfil the United States with pickup cities and carrier delivery on qualifying box counts. Head office is in Bellingham, Washington; the fruit is Pakistani; the customer is whoever is waiting for a crate that tastes like June in Punjab.
Reserve Chaunsa mangoes while the harvest is open, or ask us which week your city is loading.
